A personal tragedy? Involved in a criminal investigation about a prostitution ring when you are the Governor is not a fucking personal tragedy. Is a shame. In the now famous words of Senator Clinton, Shame on you Elliot Spitzer!
Listen, a tragedy is for us to see our soldiers coming back from Iraq and having to wait for 6 months to get a checkup at the VA. It is having them come back and be dishonorably discharged when they commit a crime due to the stop loss policy of the Pentagon and this administration. It is the thousands who are homeless now, it is all the suicides. It is seeing all this destruction ignored in the Gulf Coast due to incompetence or intentional malice surrounding the response or lack thereof. It is all the million of gulf coast residents who are still displaced and living in contaminated trailers.
What makes it personal is that we think that a man that should know better commits a crime and lies about it because the Office and the power allows him to.
What makes it personal is that they have no regard for us and what we think or what we should see.
What makes it fucking personal is that we elect this people and we should know better.
